As such, today the EU archipelago is unique, the first of its kind and clearly distinguishable from all the other information platforms that are states and that can be found around it (or within it). This accounts for the bizarre effect still caused by it with regard to interstate relationships. Non-EU states find it strange that they have to communicate at the same time with both a member state and the EU. This is understandably confusing for all the parties involved. Because the EU breaches the prehistoric model, being the first of its kind, it is bound to create confusion for some time longer.
