Attributes of a dataset
The controls (control, like processing, is material, it exists in the analogue and the digital worlds), the list of the processing operations that can or cannot happen over a dataset, form its attributes. The attributes of a dataset can be the result of anything from its nature (i.e. the way it was created) to temporal and spatial (i.e. the time and state in which it exists).
